GRAFTING
Is a method for joining a certified scion cultivar on a certified root-stock which will constitute the underground part of the vineshoot. The grafting is done by Omega machines at the end of the winter. The vines shoots are sealed with paraffin avoiding the drying of the tissues.

STRATIFICATION

is one of the main steps in the grafting process. Its aim is to obtain a callus ( tissue of soldering) which is the soldering point between the graft vine and the root-stock. It is realized with an hygrometry of 80 to 90 %

PLANTING IN POTS

The potted plants are forced in greenhouses to get a growth on the shoot and roots at the base of the root-stock ( cycle of 45 days). After sorting and acclimatization the plants can be planted on the wine property.

PLANTING IN NURSERIES and maintenance

Graftable cutttings are planted in open ground in may. During the vegetative cycle, ther are numerous steps : watering, treatment, weeding, topping..

UPROOTING

The uprooting is made in November-december, the plants are again selected and packed

PACKING

Once they are packed the vine plants are preserved in a cold storage until next spring. They are identified with a blue label of SPV VINIFHLOR certification.

CERTIFIED ORIGIN

The certification of the vine shoots is guaranteeing the wine grower that all specific measures have been taken by the nursery to meet the instructions and the regulations required by SPV VINIFHLOR
